The Gordon Center for Medical Imaging in the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Cardiac MR Center in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusetts have an opening for highly qualified individuals at the post-doctoral level to work on research related to quantitative PET-MR imaging, including advanced image acquisition, processing, motion correction and multi-modality imaging. Current projects include the development of methods for acquisition, reconstruction, and processing of cardiovascular MR in patients with coronary artery disease, arrhythmia and heart failure, development of quantitative PET and simultaneous MR/PET. Anticipated activities entail development and implementation of imaging techniques on MR/PET system with application in cardiovascular disease.
The Department of Radiology at MGH is equipped with the first mobile PET/CT, the first brain PET/MRI, and the first whole-body PET/MRI in the USA. It is also equipped with a substantial computing facility for parametric image analysis, tomographic reconstruction, Monte Carlo simulation, and other computationally intensive research applications.
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents and have obtained a Ph.D. in biomedical, computer, or electrical engineering, neuroscience, radiochemistry, medical physics, or a related field. Strong analytical, quantitative, and programming skills are essential. Prior experience in PET/MR, signal/image processing, and physiological investigation is advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will have joint appointments at MGH and HMS.
