Seminars

All trainees regularly attend the following scientific and clinical research seminar series:

  • Harvard Medical School Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine Research Seminars:

These seminars are held weekly at the Harvard Medical School on Thursdays at 8:00. They cover research topics in nuclear medicine by invited speakers followed by discussion of the theme of the talk. All trainees are strongly encouraged to attend.

  • Molecular Imaging Physics and Instrumentation Journal Club:

The Journal Club is held weekly on Thursdays and each post-doctoral trainee is required to present and discuss an article to the entire lab on a rotating basis. This allows the trainees to develop their analytical skills in understanding published work as well as their critical and communication skills.

  • Science Presentations:

Presentations are given monthly by young investigators on their current research projects. This allows those investigators to develop their scientific communication skills, and provides the attendees with updates on other research activities in the division.

  • Clinical Nuclear Medicine Conference:

This is a clinical weekly conference held on Tuesdays in the Division of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at MGH. It is optional and is regularly attended by the post-doctoral trainees as it provides good overview of the clinical problems faced in nuclear medicine which are directly pertinent to some of the trainees.

  • Clinical Abdominal PET/CT/MR Conference:

This is a clinical conference held weekly on Fridays in the Department of Radiology at MGH. It is optional and is regularly attended by the post-doctoral trainees as it provides good overview of the clinical problems faced in detection and follow up of disease.

  • Joint BWH/MGH Physics Seminar series:

These seminars tackle medical physics topics as they pertain to diagnostic imaging as well as radiotherapy. They are held alternatively at BWH and MGH with webcam access. All trainees are strongly encouraged to attend.
