Postdoctoral Fellow in Quantitative MRI
Positions
The Gordon Center for Medical Imaging (GCMI) in the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) has multiple openings at the postdoctoral level to work on research related to the development of novel data acquisition, image reconstruction, data analysis, and deep learning techniques for fast quantitative MR including MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI), parametric mapping (i.e., T1 mapping, perfusion imaging, magnetization transfer imaging), and quantitative PET/MR.
This NIH-funded, full-time position is available immediately. Salary is commensurate with experience. Successful candidates will have appointments at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
Requirements
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, neuroscience, or a related field. Physiologists and Physicians interested in quantitative imaging of physiology are also encouraged to apply. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as proficiency in computer programming, are essential. Strong background in MR physics and/or image reconstruction is desired. Prior experience with Siemens or GE sequence programming environment is highly desired but not required.
Environment
The Department of Radiology at MGH offers extensive core research facilities, including 3T and 7T Siemens MR scanners (Trio, Skyra, Prisma, and Terra), 3T brain and whole-body Siemens PET/MR scanners, and a 3T whole-body GE PET/MR scanner (to be installed in Q1 2023). The Gordon Center maintains a substantial large-scale shared memory computing facility and a constantly growing GPU cluster for parametric image analysis, image reconstruction, Monte Carlo simulation, deep learning, and other computationally intensive research applications. The successful applicant can interact collaboratively with a large (150+), growing research group in diverse areas of imaging technology and applications. The Gordon Center has extensive independent and collaborative research programs, and conducts studies in mice, rats, porcine models, nonhuman primates, and human subjects.
