Mission Statement

The Gordon Center for Medical Imaging is committed to improve patient care by catalyzing and translating developments in molecular imaging agents and advanced quantitative imaging technologies. To this end, the Center acts as a catalyst for productive collaborations between clinicians, engineers, physicians and scientists in different departments located on the main MGH campus including Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Psychiatry, Anesthesia, and Radiation Oncology.

In addition to bringing together researchers of different disciplines, and as a direct result of the endowment from the Bernard and Sophia Gordon Foundation, the Center acts as a collaborative platform between entrepreneurs, researchers and engineers who wish to improve the delivery of medical imaging services to patients. The Center believes that national interests, both economic and scientific, can be better served by a scientific training that recognizes and teaches the contributions of industrial and entrepreneurial careers. In this regard, the Gordon Center is making considerable contributions to the competitive position of American Research and the manufacture of medical imaging devices in the United States.
