Gordon Fellow Wins MGH Clinical Research Day Award

Dr. Laura Ortiz-Téran won the 2017 MGH Clinical Research Day Radiology Department award for her study titled “Brain Circuit-Gene Expression Relationships and Neuroplasticity of Multisensory Cortices in Blind Children.”

As a Gordon Fellow, she is currently investigating the neuroplastic changes occurring in blind adults and children using graph theory based resting-state functional connectivity analyses. She is also researching brain networks reorganization after training with sensory substitution devices in blind children as well as normal neurodevelopment in sighted children.
